Walking Machine

This isn't an idea I came up with but I thought I'd share it with everyone. One of my classes this semester was a 3D modelling class and for our final project we had to create a 3D model of a mechanical device. While stumbling around the internet I found an interesting device made of LEGO that seemed to walk.

This is the video I found (if anyone knows who the creator of this video is please notify me as I would like to give them credit)

This is an isometric view of the model

Like I mentioned above, if anyone knows who the creator of the video is please notify me so i can give credit to them. Aside from that let me know what you guys think.

And I'm Back

Yeah I know its been a long time but school turned out to be a lot more time consuming then I previously thought. So I'm back now with many new ideas and more time to allocate to my blog. Stay tuned for some post.

I'll be back

Yeah I know I haven't posted anything for a while (I'm back at school) and I'm sorry. Hopefully I'll be able to scrape up some time and post some new ideas or projects. Just bare with me while I try and get back on track, thanks.

New design

Ok I felt like making a bit of an aesthetic change to the blog let me know what you think via the poll on the right hand side.

Just a few ideas

Well I've had a few ideas pop into my head over the past couple of days so I thought I'd share them with everyone.

1) A transparent spray that you can apply to paper that illuminates when dark be it through chemiluminescence or electrical stimulation is up for debate. It could also be embedded into the paper when manufactured. I'm so sick of wanting to read in the dark and not having a light on hand or having one that doesn't light up anything for photons sake (yes that was lame, whatcha gonna do)

2) Next up is my porous street idea due to all the rain we've been getting up in Canada (yes I know its ironic since Canada is usually associated with snow and we of all people get rain when the rest of the world is bombarded with torrents of the white stuff). The name really says it all, just make the streets capable of absorbing more liquid so it doesn't pool on the streets (screw the sewers). I realize that this will cause major issues in the winter when it freezes over so it still needs a lot more work, but you can always use it in warmer climates.

3) Like most people this time of year I to have been traveling a lot so it wont come as a surprise if this last idea is road related again. This last idea was a sort of alternative energy thing, basically we can have magnetic rods embedded into car tires and at the same time have an induction system in our roads. This will allow for energy to be produced while the population is driving. Obviously there are some serious issues with this one,the fact that the magnetic tires will attracted unwanted debris and the resistance of the magnetic fields reducing fuel economy just for example. Ok so this one needs a lot more work before we can start tearing up the roads but then again its still a preliminary idea.

I know the reason for this blog was to try and pressure myself to make my ideas come to life and here I go proposing ideas like this. What can I say I'm a dreamer, hopefully I can still do some work on these projects if not now then in the future.

Oh yeah I forgot to say Happy New Year. Have fun and lets hope this blog takes off in the new year, cheers.
